Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction, or impotence, means not being able to get or keep an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. Men commonly have erectile dysfunction at some point in their lives, affecting about 1 in every five men over 40. About 1 in 10 men cannot have erections, and it is more common in older men.
Set2Physio can treat many common factors that can cause erectile dysfunction, including:
- Post Radical Prostatectomy > 6 months
- General ageing
- Reduced blood flow to the penis, caused by atherosclerosis (clogging of the arteries)
- Peyronie’s disease
- Prostate disease (including treatments for prostate cancer or enlarged prostate)
Studies have shown that Focused Shockwave Therapy is ideal for improving erectile hardness and suits men with vascular-driven erectile dysfunction.

The good news is – incontinence can be treated, managed, and in many cases cured! Urinary incontinence is experienced by many men following prostate surgery and/or radiation therapy. This is a common problem, but can be one of the most difficult things to cope with during your recovery.

Hard Flaccid Syndrome
Hard Flaccid Syndrome (HFS) is a condition that causes a penis to be permanently semi-erect, even if they are not aroused. Erections are typically difficult to achieve and may not be as rigid, requiring more stimulation or arousal than before. The condition can be painful for those with it, particularly during ejaculation, urination, and erection. It is common in men in their 20s or 30s who may have suffered trauma to the area through sport or other activities, though it can happen at any age.
Focused Shockwave Therapy encourages the formation of new blood vessels and nerves, which may have been damaged in trauma, leading to Hard Flaccid. By passing high-frequency acoustic pulses through the base of the penis, FST treats the area with precision and can repair some of the damage done.
